Hi! I’m Caroline Cattermull. Welcome

Painting is an integral part of my life and I work from my home
studio in the Cotswolds, England.
Using acrylic paint, I create playful, distinctive colour palettes
to make my paintings vibrate with energy and intrigue. My brush technique creates the illusion of movement, both real and mystical. I like to weave a story on the surface of the
canvas, sometimes embedding elements of abstract shape in the artwork.
The paintings capture the essence of a subject; the
glint in an eye, a moment of respite in a landscape, an instant in time. These moments are brought to life using layers of
paint on canvas or paper, using immediate, confident brush marks.
Inspired by travel and nature, light and
movement, I love to create paintings that make the viewer look twice, feel
transported. Having lived abroad for the best part of 20 years, the colours and
cultures of the world are my greatest inspiration.
